Founded more than 30 years ago now, TAP (Taunton Association for Psychotherapy) offers an annual programme of diverse and stimulating evening talks given by people from a wide professional and geographical field on the theme of psychological understanding. TAP provides a forum for professional and interested lay people to achieve a deeper understanding of the human psyche through a psychotherapeutic approach. We hope that this website will offer you all the information you need. Perhaps you want to attend some of our regular talks, find out more about our very popular annual conference, or discover new ways to network with peers and others interested in the wide range of topics we explore.
Do visit our blog page where we will post write-ups of our talks along with links to any material made available by our speakers.
If you do not find what you need to know quickly, please do send us an email to email@example.com or call Suzie Grogan on 01823 661601
Come along to the first TAP Christmas Talk & Festive Get Together Friday 8th December 2017!! For the first time TAP is offering a Christmas social and networking event for members, their friends and families and anyone interested in emotional health and well being. It will be an opportunity to meet the TAP Committee, talk to peers and colleagues as well as enjoy festive food and drink and the company of like-minded souls in therun up to Christmas 2017. Taking place on Friday 8th December it will start at 7.30pm at our usual venue - the Friends Meeting House in Bath Place, Taunton.
The evening is free to members and just £5 to non-members to include food and drink. We are hoping to raise additional funds to offer more workshops to our annual programme and ensure we can continue to get the highest quality speakers to our TAP Talks.
As an extra, and just for fun (!) there will also be a short talk in addition to the talks on the TAP Programme. Suzie Grogan, our TAP Administrator is a professional researcher and writer (many of you will have come to her TAP Talk on the lasting trauma of shell shock in 2015) and her new book 'Death Disease & Dissection ' looks at medical treatments of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
A little like a 'Horrible Histories' for grown-ups, her 30-minute talk will focus on the work of the earliest GPs and their training and will offer early medicine in all its gruesome, and sometimes comical, reality.
So do come along, we would love to see you there. To ensure we can get enough food in (and so as not to waste any either) we would be really grateful for a quick email saying you are coming and how many people you will be bringing with you. Of course, we will be happy to see you anyway, but an RSVP to 01823 661601 or to firstname.lastname@example.org would help greatly.
We look forward to seeing you there!!
Helena Trump TAP Chair on behalf of the TAP Committee - Andrew Wilcox, Ian Stevenson, David Trott, Sarah Kay-Hawker and Peter Grogan.
